Bolloré Transport & Logistics to open new Abidjan airport logistics facility

CÔTE D’IVOIRE – International transport and logistics operator, Bolloré Transport & Logistics Cote d’Ivoire is set to open a new logistics facility close to Abidjan airport.

Intended to strengthen its offer of services related to the import and export of goods by air, this new infrastructure will have required 18 months of work and an investment of 3.4 billion CFA francs (US$5.5 million).

The center will cover a total area of 9,000 square meters and is being developed to support cargo imports and exports from the country.

The center is due to open in September and will include a 7,500 square meter operating area and 1,500 square meters of office space.

It will also contain a 3,500 square meter warehouse with equipment such as a weighbridge, a dock leveler, a palletization system, and a cold room.

This investment is part of the structuring projects to which we have been committed for several years, aiming at modernizing the logistics infrastructure in Côte d’Ivoire,” said Joël Hounsinou, managing director of Bolloré Transport & Logistics Côte d’Ivoire.

Two years on from the inauguration of Aérohub, we are preparing to bring a modern infrastructure into operation that will enable us to meet the growing needs of our customers and to strengthen our role as a regional logistics hub.”

Further developments are planned to facilitate the packaging of pharmaceutical products and provide value-added storage for all types of freight, including perishable goods destined for the Ivorian market or European countries.

These services will be provided by the conventional freight and express transport teams located close to the operating sites.

The logistic company currently has over 1,500 Ivorian employees, working notably at its agencies in Abidjan, San Pedro, Bouaké, Ferkessédougou, and Ouangolodougou.

The company contributes actively to the development of Côte d’Ivoire and invests in the upskilling of its employees.

It trains its workforce through the Pan-African Port Training Centre (CFPP) and is forging partnerships with higher-education institutions, including Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny (INP-HB).

Bolloré Transport & Logistics also leads initiatives for the local population in partnership with organizations, assisting young people in their education and social reintegration and working to raise their awareness of environmental protection.
