EGYPT – EdVentures, a corporate venture capital (VC), has announced a US$200,000 investment in Career 180, a centralized and comprehensive career advising platform.

The investment was done with the goal of establishing a new employment platform and merging it with the Freelance Yard to create an integrated platform that provides adolescents with employment and qualifying services across all job types.

“We aim to create a comprehensive online platform that qualifies youth to the job market and facilitates their hiring at multinational, local companies and startups, through offering hundreds of online courses and programmes, in addition to offering thousands of jobs at Career 180 and Freelance Yard,” said founders of Career 180.

The new investment will help Career 180 to further enhance its career advising services and increase its training programmes, as it seeks to train one million trainees and assist 300,000 users in finding suitable job opportunities.

“We constantly aim at empowering youth, and that’s why we were excited to do a new round of investment in Career 180,” said Dalia Ibrahim, the founder & CEO of EdVentures.

“Their new platform will enable youth to find job opportunities while helping them develop their skills and capabilities through the various training programmes offered by this platform.”

Career 180, founded in 2016 by Mohamed Akmal and Shorouk Alaa Eldin, helps children enhance their abilities to match the labor market through counseling, workshops, and theoretical or practical training programs in a variety of fields.

Career 180 has endeavored to provide a variety of professional counselling services through its platform since its inception, with the goal of preparing youth for the labor market.

Career 180 offers career counseling videos as well as a number of extra services for young people in their various specialties, such as workshops and theoretical or practical training programs.

Career 180 provides career advising sessions and meetings during the one-day event to bring together youth and link them with senior specialists in various specializations and professions.

In Seed and pre-Series A rounds, EdVentures supports and invests in businesses specializing in education, culture, and creative learning solutions in Egypt, Africa, and the Arab World.

Nahdet Misr Publishing House founded the venture capital firm in 2017. It offers technical and financial assistance to companies in order to assure their success and long-term viability in the market, with investments tailored to each company’s needs and maturity level.
