NIGERIA – Cititrust Holdings Plc, a leading Investment holding company in Africa based in Nigeria, has announced the promotion of its Chief Finance Officer, Afolabi Martins to Group Executive Director.

In his new position, Afolabi will be heading the Group’s Finance & Strategy department, according to a report by Nairametrics.

Afolabi holds a Bsc in Economics from Lagos State University, an MSc Economics from the University of Lagos and M.Phil. Development Finance from the University of Stellenbosch, Cape Town South Africa.

He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and Fellow of Chartered Institute of Accountants of Nigeria.

A statement from Cititrust revealed that Afolabi has a cumulative 20 years work experience in the Nigerian financial and capital markets.

He has previously worked with a number of capital market companies, including, Futureview Financial Services Ltd, Standard Alliance Capital and Assets Management and was was also Chief Executive Officer of Kinley Securities Ltd.

Founded in 2007 as Cititrust Financial Services Limited, the group has been leading the revolution in financial services in the continent.

The group expanded its footprint beyond its country of establishment, Nigeria in 2015 and currently has a presence in more than 11 countries in Africa.

The Group diversified into Non – Financial Services Business in Nigeria commencing in the Energy Sector in 2012 and later, diversified into Telecoms, Healthcare, Real Estate and of recently Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC).

This year, Cititurst holding plc however, made a strategic about turn in its investment goals, divesting from non-Financial Services to focus on its Strength which is Financial Services.

The holding’s strategic subsidiaries include: LivingTrust Mortgage Bank Plc, Core Capital Ltd, First Options Microfinance Bank Ltd, FGH Healthcare Ltd, CDP Insurance Brokers Ltd and Bermuda BDC Ltd among others.

Early last month, Cititrust Holdings Plc won the 2020 Global Banking and Finance magazine’s award for a decade of offering excellent financial and investment services across Africa.
