KENYA – Copia Global, the fast-growing B2C e-Commerce platform operating in East Africa, has undertaken several executives appointments to beef up its management as it continues to pursue its expansion strategy.

The mobile commerce platform has promoted its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Dominic Dimba to Managing Director, of East Africa.

As the former CFO of the organization’s Kenya division, Dominic will take on his new role, having amassed over 20 years in strategic, financial, strategic, and business development roles on three continents.

He will oversee the operating and financial performance of Copia’s Kenyan and Ugandan businesses and drive profitability through growth, margin improvement, and unit cost optimization.

Alongside his appointment, Copia Global has named Caren Robb as its new Global Chief Financial Officer and Mike King to take over the role of Chief Technology Officer.

Caren Robb brings on board over 20 years of experience leading teams across thirty countries, specializing in finance, governance, risk, analytics, corporate affairs, transformation, and strategy for the retail and financial services sectors.

Before joining Copia, she worked with Standard Chartered, Woolworths, RCS, Jumo, Letshego, and Finca.

Meanwhile, Mike King has extensive experience building specialized technology solutions for retail and has worked with large and small retailers across Europe and within retail systems vendors.

He will lead the transformation of Copia’s technology to support the next phase of the company’s growth and be ready to service customers directly across all markets securely and reliably.

Copia Global provides e-commerce solutions for the rapidly growing 750 million middle to low-income African consumers through mobile applications, agent networks, and an innovative last-mile logistics system.

The organization currently serves over 1.9 million customers in Kenya and Uganda.

The platform recently expanded its private label offering with the launch of a new manufacturing unit that will enhance its output of affordable sugar and rice to the Kenyan market.

The new machine is the second of a such unit that Copia operates and will double the supply of its own branded sugar and rice.

Beyond the production and distribution of the two consumer goods, Copia offers over 4,000 products to the Kenyan and Ugandan markets, with its ambition being to provide quality products at the lowest market prices delivered at no charge to the consumer.

To date, the company has fulfilled more than 13 million orders in Kenya and Uganda through a network of over 38,000 Agents, many of whom are small shopkeepers serving as order and delivery points.
