GHANA – Ecobank Ghana has launched a new banking solution for small businesses known as ‘The Ecobank Digi Banking Pack’ aimed at providing convenient banking services to SMEs by leveraging the bank’s digital offerings.
The bank said that the move was informed by its quest to address some of the key challenges confronting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) size businesses in the country.
The Ecobank Digi Banking Pack comprises of: the Digi Current Account, Digi Savings Account, and a bouquet of collection and payment solutions.
The Digi Current Account is a special account with no initial deposit, no monthly service charges and automatic access to the bank’s array of collection and payment solutions.
The Digi Savings Account, is a quasi-hybrid account which allows cheque deposit and has no monthly service fees. The account also offers customers with tiered interest rates.
EcobankPay, Ecobank Xpress and OMNILite make up the collection and payment solutions offered by Ecobank.
Ecobank Pay facilitates payments to merchants via MVisa and MasterPass QR codes while Ecobank Xpress Points will serve as agents for basic banking services such as cash pay-ins and withdrawals, Bank Card.
The Ecobank OMNILite will enable merchants to perform a wide range of finance functions including account viewing, reporting, payments and liquidity management
Speaking at the launch in Accra the Managing Director of Ecobank Ghana, Mr. Daniel Sackey, said that this new initiative was part of the Banks commitment to “enabling business operators to enjoy faster targeted solutions.”
“It is a convenient, smarter, and safer access to internet banking. It enhances working capital, increased access to new markets and offers financial advisory services,” said Adorfo-Addo.
Ecobank Ghana is the second largest Bank in Ghana with an estimated total asset base of US$1.91 billion (10.45 billion Ghana Cedes) and was ranked as the third most credible bank in Ghana by the Credmap Technology Ghana Banking Credibility Index in 2019.
The bank currently operates about 77 branches in the country and employs over 1,600 employees.
