expressPay to launch new international remittances services in Ghana

GHANA- Ghana’s leading financial technology company, expressPay, has revealed that it is in the advanced stages of introducing a new international remittance service to Ghana.

A report by Ghana Web indicated that expressPay’s international service will begin with remittance transactions from the UK to Ghana and expand to other European countries.

The introduction of international remittances will entrench expressPay as the leading financial technology company with a focus on customer needs and changing socio-economic dynamics.

The fintech company currently offers highly patronised domestic remittance services across banks and mobile money schemes.

expressPay is also a leading Visa eCommerce processor in Ghana supporting thousands of consumers and businesses with digital payments.

CEO of expressPay, Curtis Vanderpuije said that the introduction of the international remittance service was in response to needs of their clientele in Ghana.

“They want real time solutions that are secure, but they also want more; they want to make those same efficient digital financial transactions internationally and that is why we’re expanding internationally,” Vanderpuije explained.

The expressPay CEO noted that, “Given the current circumstances, with COVID-19 still raging globally, we expect our new service to be widely received by Ghanaians.”

“We are happy to continue supporting our customers at this difficult time, the best way we know how,” Vanderpuije added.

expressPay is widely known in Ghana for its app, but it is also an eCommerce payment gateway provider and marketplace.

The financial technology company supports all mobile money schemes and all major international card networks – Visa, MasterCard, American Express etc.

It serves as a one stop shop for the payment needs of merchants, offering innovative android based POSes and QR solutions.

Last year, expressPay, became the first fintech in Ghana to get an ISO 27001:2013 certification and to achieve a PCI-DSS Level 1 certification.

PCI-DSS is a payment systems security standard that validates the systems of a payment service provider (PSP) as being highly secure.

The PCI-DSS compliance – Level 1 is the highest level of certification that exists in the field and is reserved for top PSPs and merchants processing over 6 million card transactions.
