NIGERIA – First City Monument Bank (FCMB), one of Nigeria’s leading full-service bank has opened an ultra-modern cash centre within the Lagos State Abattoir Complex in Agege.
The new branch was inaugurated by the Bank’s top management in a successful ceremony attended by top dignitaries, including officials of the Lagos State Government, trade unions, their members, and customers of the bank.
‘’We consider our presence at the Agege abattoir as another veritable opportunity to further cement our relationship with Lagos and in turn, drive development in this part of the state,” Regional Head, Lagos, FCMB, Mr Oliver Opara said.
FCMB in a statement stated that the opening of the new cash centre was in line with its expansion approach and commitment towards bringing banking services directly to the doorsteps of its existing and potential customers.
The statement noted that FCMB customers in Agege, Oko-Oba, Abule-Egba, Ojokoro and environs could now have an opportunity to further enjoy the offerings of the bank.
“The location of the branch takes into consideration the convenience of residents and businesses in these communities and would go a long way to promote financial inclusion in the country,” read the statement in part.
FCMB revealed that the new branch was equipped with top class traditional banking and digital infrastructure that would ensure financial service are conveniently delivered to customers in a relaxed and tranquil environment.
A team of experienced financial experts were also going to be deployed in the cash centre to ensure customers receive high quality services whenever they visit the new cash center.
In his address, Mr Oluwakayode Adigun from FCMB, said the opening of the cash centre gave individuals and businesses an opportunity to access another convenient location for their transactions.
First City Merchant Bank was incorporated as a private limited liability company on 20 April 1982 and granted a banking licence on 11 August 1983.
It was the first bank to be established in Nigeria without government or foreign support.
In 2001, the name of the bank was changed from First City Merchant Bank to First City Monument Bank following the bank’s transformation to a universal bank.
