AFRICA – IAG Cargo, the cargo handling division of International Airlines Group, has announced two new appointments to its commercial team with Daniel Byrne and Freddie Overton being promoted to regional commercial managers.

The internal promotions see Overton appointed regional commercial manager for Europe and Africa from his prior role as area commercial manager for Benelux, Germany, and Switzerland.

He has over six years’ experience in the logistics industry.

In this role he will be responsible for delivering IAG Cargo’s commercial strategy in Europe and Africa.

Byrne takes charge for UK and Ireland region from his prior role as area sales manager for the same region.

Byrne has been with IAG Cargo since 2017 and has spent the last ten years in the logistics sector gaining a wealth of experience in sales, development and strategy in the logistics industry that will support and strengthen IAG Cargo’s UK & Ireland business.

Darren Peek, head of sales at IAG Cargo said, “UK, Ireland, Europe and Africa remain strategic growth markets for IAG Cargo, and I am confident that Daniel and Freddie will excel in their new roles representing and leading our sales organisation to professionally serve our customers and meet our goals for the regions.”

IAG Cargo uses the freight capacity of its sister airlines’ passenger flights, such as British Airways, and maintains three hubs located at Dublin Airport, Heathrow Airport and Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport.
