EGYPT – GLT Express, the logistics arm of Global Logistics and Technology (GLT) Holdings, has expanded its operations into Egypt by acquiring Egyptian logistics company Gallop Express.

The acquisition is part of GLT’s strategy to expand its operations beyond the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and into additional countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

GLT Express has been operating in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for over six years, providing a comprehensive range of logistics services, including fulfillment, last-mile delivery, freight, and global address.

Founded in 2016 by Mr. Alzamil, the company aims to assist merchants in scaling and growing their businesses by providing high-quality full-suite solutions.

The company’s solutions enable merchants to leverage their operation processes across multiple domains, enabling them to serve their customers at the highest standard and lowest cost.

GLT Holdings also seeks to simplify the entire selling process for merchants, from website development to payment processing for both online and offline sales, fulfillment services, shipping, and delivery.

The company utilizes cutting-edge technology to streamline the entire operating process from start to finish to deliver all types of shipments.

The Saudi-based company’s move aims to take advantage of the North African country e-commerce market which is the world’s 39th largest e-commerce market with a projected revenues of US$5 billion.

Egypt’s logistics market is expected to grow by 44% by 2021, owing to the country’s unique geographic location, which qualifies it to act as a logistic hub connecting Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

On the other hand, the Egyptian government has undertaken significant upgrades to the country’s transportation infrastructure in accordance with Egypt’s 2030 Vision.

We aspire to contribute to Egypt’s revolutionary agenda by offering a range of logistics solutions that set GLT Express apart from the competition,” said  Humphries.

We are committed to showcasing our adaptable, customized technology, fostering a creative, multicultural work environment, and forming key connections in order to strengthen our presence in the Egyptian market.”

GLT aims to become one of the top five logistics operators in the region by serving as a one-stop-shop for all service requirements from the first to the last mile, with operations in the UAE, Uzbekistan, and Sudan, in addition to its over six-year presence in the Saudi market.
