EGYPT – Egypt’s President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi has extended an official invitation to German’s leading innovation and technology company Siemens for further cooperation in the sectors of new and renewable energy, electricity linkage, and vocational training for Egyptian cadres.

His Excellency Fatah al-Sisi made this invitation during a courtesy call at his office by visiting Siemens AG president and CEO Joe Kaeser.

During the meeting, Siemens CEO Joe Kaeser expressed the company’s aspiration to develop its activities in Egypt, capitalizing on the unprecedented successes jointly achieved by Siemens and the Egyptian Government.

Just recently, Siemens, and its local partners installed three giant power stations in Beni Suef, Burullus, and the New Administrative Capital, adding 14,400 megawatts to the country’s national grid.

Also present in the meeting was German ambassador to Egypt, H.E Cyrill Nunn who lauded measures adopted by the Egyptian government to reinforce the economy in the wake of the untoward economic fallout of the coronavirus pandemic.

While in Egypt, the Siemens’ President and CEO also inaugurated two projects which were implemented by Siemens Egypt, in cooperation with The German Agency for International Cooperation or (GIZ) and other Egyptian partners.

One of the projects was a Siemens Smart Clinic in Shubra el Kheima that was built in collaboration between Siemens, Siemens Energy, Siemens Healthineers and the German non-profit Global Innovation Gathering.

Serving around 15,000 patients a year, the clinic will provide services to people in one of the most populated areas of Greater Cairo, as well as facilitate Covid-19 diagnostic services.

The other project was the Egyptian German Technical (EGT) Academy in Al Ain Al Sokhna which will support occupational training to engineers and technicians in all industries and offer them the opportunity to develop their skills in a variety of topics.

Additionally, the Academy will provide real-life conditions simulations, using the latest technology and a variety of teaching approaches in practice-oriented training.

Siemens AG is a global technology powerhouse that focuses on intelligent infrastructure for buildings and distributed energy systems and on automation and digitalization in the process and manufacturing industries.
