NIGERIA – UAE-based Trina Solar, a global PV and smart energy total solution provider, has signed a distributor agreement with Solar Power Etal to supply Trina Solar’s products and solutions in Nigeria.
With Nigeria having enormous solar energy potential, this agreement will ensure the availability of Trina Solar’s tier 1 PV modules in this key West African market and will further boost the company’s ambitious expansion across the continent.

According to The Middle East Solar Industry Association (MESIA), the Mena region alone has a prospected energy investment that could hit US$1 trillion in the 2019-2023 period.
“We are confident that our smart energy solutions along with our ambitious growth plans will enable us to become one of the top providers for a lot of the solar energy projects that will take place across the Middle East & Africa region,” added Jimenez.
Trina Solar recently published its 2020 full-year financial results announcing an operating revenue of US$4.429 billion and achieving net income attributable to shareholders of US$188 million.
The company’s total module capacity reached 22GW in 2020, and module shipments reached 15.915GW, ranking third in the world, tally to the 2020 annual shipment guidance published in Q3 2020 by IHS Markit.
